Celebrating
10 Years of
The ILEC Advisor
Since its 1999 launch, The ILEC Advisor has
become a leading source of analysis and commentary for the independent
communications provider industry—and we now have an estimated
readership of more than 2,500. The ILEC Advisor provides
its subscribers with numbers and ideas: numbers for gauging performance,
trends and values; ideas for defining directions and strategies.
In addition to following deals and values in the independent communications
provider industry, we also track developments in subscriber counts
and access lines; VoIP and broadband companies; cable and satellite
providers; broadband over power lines initiatives; and state and
federal regulatory issues.
One of the main catalysts for The ILEC Advisor’s launch
was the GTE rural line sales of 1999. There were 15 deals that year,
and another 18 announced, so it only seemed reasonable that a publication
such as The ILEC Advisor would find a home in the industry.
Since then, our principal objective has been to track trends in
public and private market values in the communications industry,
and we’ve expanded that focus to include the new technologies,
regulatory developments or important issues facing the rural and
independent communications sector.
As we look to the future of The ILEC Advisor,
and face the reality of competition and declining access lines,
we’ll continue to profile the entrepreneurial efforts and
financial and operational strategies of industry insiders who are
committed to forge ahead in unsettled times. We’re grateful
to those who have supported us over the years, and we look forward
to adding even more subscribers to our readership.
