JSI Capital Advisors traces its history to 1962 when John Staurulakis, the former director of settlements for the United States Independent Telephone Association, founded John Staurulakis, Inc. (JSI). Thirty years later, in 1992, JSI Financial Services was formed as a division of JSI to specifically address the growing strategic, financial and transactional needs of JSI's traditional client base, namely the family- and cooperatively-owned rural incumbent local exchange carriers. In 1998, JSI Financial Services changed its name to JSI Capital Advisors and realigned its focus toward providing transaction advisory, valuation and research services to participants in the rapidly growing rural and independent communications provider industry. JSI Capital Advisors was formally spun off as a separate and independent entity in 1999 and opened its headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire.
In 2003, JSI Capital Advisors launched JSI Transaction Advisors, LLC, an NASD registered broker dealer, which provides specialized transaction advisory and investment banking services to owners and management of rural and independent communications providers.
Today, JSI Capital Advisors and JSI Transaction Advisors provide specialized transaction advisory and valuation services, meeting the challenges of the fast-paced telecommunications environment and providing services to all segments within the industry, including incumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, wireless providers, cable television providers, Internet service providers, and regional and statewide fiber networks.
Our principals have participated and executed capital sourcing and M&A transactions with total transaction value in excess of $2.0 billion.
